Romance genres have a heat level in Fine-tune: Sweet, Sensual, Steamy or Erotic. It applies to the whole book and goes into every chapter prompt.
Adult-content models
With Pro and the adult-content setting in Settings → Advanced, you can choose adult-content models listed on OpenRouter for any task.
Tropes and themes
Paranormal and contemporary romance come with trope chips such as fated mates, forbidden love, forced proximity and slow burn. Add your own.
A cast with chemistry
Each character has a description, backstory, motivation and arc, so both leads stay consistent across chapters.
You stay in control
Assist proposals (continue, rewrite, revise) are shown for you to accept or discard. Edit any passage by hand.
Your own account
Generations run on your OpenRouter key, which FictionAI stores encrypted. Your books are visible only in your account.
Subgenres
Pick Romance, Contemporary Romance or Paranormal Romance, or type your own genre, then describe the subgenre in the pitch and notes.

Questions
Does FictionAI support NSFW content?
Yes, on Pro ($9.99/month). Turn on adult content in Settings → Advanced to use adult-content models. Free accounts cannot use them. What a model will write is up to the model and its provider; many mainstream models decline explicit requests.
How does heat level control work?
Romance genres have a heat level in Fine-tune on the Idea screen: Sweet, Sensual, Steamy or Erotic. It is set per book and included in every chapter prompt. For a single scene, use Rewrite selection with an instruction such as "keep this fade-to-black".
Which AI models support erotica?
OpenRouter lists models that allow adult content. With Pro and adult content on, you can pick one per task in Settings → Advanced. The Quality presets use mainstream Claude and Gemini models, which may decline explicit scenes.
Is my content private?
Your books are visible only in your account, and your OpenRouter key is stored encrypted. Generation requests go to the model provider through your OpenRouter account, so their data policies apply; review them in your OpenRouter settings.
Can I write romance with steamy scenes?
Yes. Pick a romance genre and set the heat level to Steamy or Erotic. Steamy works on any plan; explicit output needs Pro, adult content on and a model that allows it.
