What FictionAI does differently
Your choice of model
Pick Fast (Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite), Balanced (latest Claude Sonnet) or Best (latest Claude Opus), or set any OpenRouter model per task in Settings → Advanced.
You pay the AI provider
Generations run on your own OpenRouter account at OpenRouter's prices. FictionAI adds no markup and shows each generation's cost.
Plan first, then write
One action builds premise, title, world, cast and outline. Edit any card, or regenerate it with an instruction.
Series
On Pro, a series has its own outline, cast and world, and each new book is built with them as context.
World and cast in every chapter
Each chapter is written with the story bible and the earlier chapters in the prompt.
Genre defaults
The genre you pick pre-fills point of view, tone, story shape, themes and tropes. Change any of them.

Is FictionAI cheaper than Squibler?
It depends on your usage and on Squibler's current prices (see squibler.io/pricing). FictionAI Free costs nothing and Pro is $9.99/month; on both, AI use is billed by OpenRouter to your account, and FictionAI shows the cost of each generation.
Does Squibler support BYOK?
Please check Squibler's site for its current options. FictionAI works only with your own OpenRouter account, connected in one click or by pasting a key.
Which generates better fiction?
Output quality depends mostly on the model and on your edits. FictionAI lets you pick the model and writes each chapter from an editable story bible and the earlier chapters. Try both on the same premise.
Can I export from Squibler to FictionAI?
There is no file import in FictionAI; paste your existing chapters into the editor. FictionAI exports DOCX, PDF, Markdown, plain text and HTML.
Which has better AI models?
FictionAI has no model of its own: it uses models on OpenRouter, including Claude, GPT, Gemini and others, chosen by the Quality setting or per task in Settings → Advanced. For Squibler's models, see their site.
